CRAZY HOUSE – ETERNAL VIBRATIONS AS THE FIRST TIME

Hang Nga Crazy House is a work of a Vietnamese architect – Ms. Dang Viet Nga. She spent fourteen years studying and living in Russia. After successfully defending her doctoral thesis, Viet Nga returned to her home country and worked in Hanoi. In 1983, she decided to move to and stick with Da Lat until now because of her love for this plateau city.

After many constructions were designed according to orders of the state and various units, she cherished a lifelong dream to build an architectural work for herself one day. A place where she belongs, where she expresses the dream of freedom in artistic creation, natural love and heart toward the source.

Crazy House is also known by its special names like “Spider Web Castle”, “Bizarre House” based on the unique architecture of this place.

When coming to Hang Nga Villa, you will visit the architectural complex of tree-shaped houses. Inside the shabby old tree-shaped houses, there are unique and luxurious rooms for guests who want to experience the overnight stay here. Each room is designed with a very close, idyllic theme representing a country, a nation or something in life. For example, the Bamboo Tree room symbolizes the Vietnamese village, giving the tenacious and resilient will of the Vietnamese nation in front of all difficulties and challenges; The Gentle Bear room represents the great Russia, the Russian people with their warm hearts; The Honeymoon Room symbolizes the couple's love, the early sweetness of married life, and wishes each day in the couple's life will always be as passionate as "Honeymoon".

The idea of a tree-shaped house comes from the image of Mother Nature protecting and harboring human life. Forests have already been lost and destructive due to human’s selfish needs and heartless people. However, human beings always receive from nature the tolerance and forgiveness unconditionally for their mistakes that make people feel indebted to nature too much, need to correct themselves more, to be grateful and loving more.

Visitors and guests will be given general information about the owner Dang Viet Nga and Spider Web Castle. And then as the true criterion of the house - FREEDOM, visitors will be free to go sightseeing, explore the beauty of the house, and let emotions take control. Experience in the house is a dream come true of the Vietnamese female architect. This place where we can see things that are very familiar but have been so far apart? The sense of truly being at one with nature and the source in the green space of the campus. “Finding the way back to yourself” - it's been too long in a busy and hectic life, we have never stopped, even for a few minutes, to wonder “Who am I? And being brought in this life for what purpose, what meaning?”. Marvel at the beauty of this place and once been illuminated on your own soul.

Entering the space of the castle, there are stairs and paths appearing as a message – this is your life, choose an own separate and different way to be yourself. It is never too late to begin. The staircase is made of concrete simulating the image of tree as nature always exists, raising human steps to reach new heights. But if people do not appreciate and protect nature, the same steps are also down way as a consequence of “what goes around, comes around”.

Coming to Crazy House once, twice or maybe many times but it is never enough because each visit brings different experiences as Heraclitus, Greek philosopher, said, “No man ever steps in the same river twice”. Crazy House is always brand-new to every visitor, to everyone who sees it every day, which makes it so special. The Hang Nga villa contributes a shimmering beauty to this chilly highland region and an irreplaceable role that attracts the footsteps of so many visitors from all over the world.
