THE WOMAN AT THE ANT ROOM
You are standing at the Ant Room (Room No. 2). By the door is a sculpture of a woman whose hands are tied tightly. It represents the status of women in the old society. They were stuck in the old traditions and old-fashioned ideas, and their dreams as well as their ambitions were entirely ignored. Look back on that time, Madam Đặng Việt Nga found herself in the same situation. Her works were misinterpreted and received comments with disfavor; her designs are rejected because they are too innovative, far different from the former models. The statue also represents the first stage of Crazy House (1990 - 1995) - a challenging and difficult time.
Please take the stairs to your left to the sculpture of the second period of Crazy House.
